Raptors spell out airport code in stands ahead of Game 5

The Toronto Raptors used the T-shirts they are giving away to fans to spell out the Toronto airport code ahead of Game 5 of their series with the Heat.

Throughout the playoffs, the Toronto Raptors have been giving away T-shirts to the fans at every home game. They are positioned to create a design in the stands that represents either the city or the country. There have been a few maple leaf designs,  and The 6ix made an appearance.

So what did the Raptors’ go with ahead of Game 5 versus the Miami Heat? YYZ which is the airport code for Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The idea of taking off is fitting for this Raptors team. Toronto is still looking for their all-star backcourt of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry to find their form in the playoffs. DeRozan is battling through an injured right thumb that kept him on the bench for much of the fourth quarter in game 4. From Lowry, the Raptors will look for a repeat of his 33 point performance in game 3.

Also, a question for the Raptors moving forward, but far less pressing, what else can the team design the stands to look like? Luckily, Toronto has had many nicknames over the years, so maybe Hogtown and The Big Smoke will be used if the team is able to make it further in the playoffs.
