After Rob Gronkowski was placed on the ‘Madden 17’ cover, Twitter blew up over this year’s cover star.

There isn’t a sports game that quite captures video game players quite like the Madden franchise. Every year, the game puts the biggest players in the league on the cover, save Peyton Hillis, and those players get even more exposure.

This year, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will grace the cover of Madden 17 and the choice to put him on the cover is an easy decision. Gronkowski has one of the most wild personalities that the league has ever seen and the guy is one of the best to ever play the tight end position.

Of course, some will be worried about the so-called “Madden curse,” but Gronkowski seems like the type of guy that wouldn’t put any stock into such a thing. After Gronkowski was chosen as the player that would be on the cover over several other superstars, Twitter absolutely blew up over the decision.

There are plenty of people that feel that either Cam Newton or Von Miller should have been on the cover for their tremendous playing during the 2015 season. Both of those players ended up having a battle with each other in Super Bowl 50. However, Gronkowski was just as stellar at his spot and he finished runner-up the year before.

Nonetheless, when it’s a player that plays for the Patriots, there’s going to be plenty of opinions.
