The Oklahoma City Thunder will be taking on the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, but when does it all start?
Everyone thought that we were no doubt headed for a 2016 Western Conference Finals showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, the two best teams from the regular season. However, only half of that came true.
Following a Game 6 win over the Spurs, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be the ones that will try to take down the defending champs, not San Antonio as a lot of people had anticipated. After getting absolutely destroyed in Game 1 of the series, the Thunder were able to get it all together and come away with the series win.
Still, even with the Thunder, this should be a fun series coming up with the Warriors. These two teams played some amazing regular season games against one another, and now we’ll get to see them go at it a few more times on the court with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
With the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant out there, this series is certainly not lacking in star power, which is always great to see in such a pivotal series.
All of that said, some are probably wondering when exactly Game 1 of this series will be taking place now that the Thunder have eliminated the Spurs. Well, Game 1 will emanate from Oracle Arena, home of the defending champion Warriors and it will be here on Monday, May 16 with a start time to be announced.
