Josh Richardson throws down massive one-hand jam (Video)
Heat rookie Josh Richardson threw down a humungous one-handed dunk against the Raptors in Game 6
The Miami Heat were facing elimination on Friday night on their home floor at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Toronto Raptors in Game 6. One of the narratives of the series, though, had been injuries that forced both teams to dig deep into their rosters. Heat rookie Josh Richardson saw his minutes increase because of that and he made it worth it in the second quarter on Friday night with one of the dunks of the playoffs.
With the second quarter coming to a close and the Heat trying to add to their lead, Josh Richardson got the ball just to the right of the top of the key. Kyle Lowry tried to close out, but the Heat rookie blew by him and went right at the rim. Undeterred by a couple of Raptors defenders and big bodies on the interior, the high-flying Richardson skied to the rim and threw down a gigantic one-handed dunk:
That’s one way to go about showing you belong in the Heat rotation and the NBA Playoffs, Josh Richardson. My goodness.
Richardson has been tearing down rims for much of his first season with the Heat as plays like this are becoming more and more common. With all of this work continuing to be added to his resume, he’s making it mighty hard to think about the Slam Dunk Contest in 2017 without his name being a part of it.
