Shaq’s son plans to train with Kobe Bryant

The basketball playing son of Shaq, Shareef O’Neal, will likely train with his dad’s former Los Angeles Lakers star teammate, Kobe Bryant, this summer.

For eight seasons, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant formed one of the most dynamic duos on a basketball court for the Los Angeles Lakers. After Shaq’s arrival from the Orlando Magic before the 1996-97 season (which would be Kobe’s rookie year), the team would bring home three NBA titles during that span and make an appearance in another Finals.

At the same time, the tension between the two superstars was so thick that not even a steak knife could cut through it, as reports were all over the place about everything from snitching on each other to wives over infidelity off the court to wanting to be the main man in the Lakers’ system on it.

Now that Bryant is retired from the league, he has plenty of free time to teach the next generation of players how to star in the game. Who is going to be one of his first pupils? Why, it appears to be none other than the son of his one time teammate/rival.

Shaq’s son, Shareef O’Neal, is a star basketball player as a high school sophomore in California. The website TMZ caught up with the youngster and he dropped this dime about a possible future training session with Kobe:

".@Shaq‘s son Shareef, says @KobeBryant offered to give him 1-on-1 training this summer … and he accepted.https://t.co/fjp4yfSPNJ— TMZ Sports (@TMZ_Sports) May 12, 2016"

Shareef O’Neal is a 6-foot-9 guard who reportedly has three-point range and shooting skills that remind those around him of a young Kobe…so if you want the best training, why not go straight to the source?
