Minnesota Twins’ slugger Miguel Sano blasted a 464-foot home run on Friday evening at Cleveland.

How far can you hit a home run? If your name is Miguel Sano, the answer is at least 464 feet.

On Friday night against the Cleveland Indians, the Twins’ slugger crushed a Josh Tomlin pitch right down the middle out of the park, and then some.

Obviously, this is one of the longest home run anyone in the majors has hit this season. For reference, it would have cleared the wall behind Tal’s Hill in center field at Minute Maid Park in Houston by about 30 feet. That’s ridiculous.

The Twins are having an absolutely horrid 2016 campaign, sitting at 8-25 before Friday’s games, which would be good for 14 games out of first place in the AL Central Division.

While the home run was solo, anything that breaks a record on the season has to be a small victory for the struggling Twins. The team is last in just about every major pitching and hitting category, but this could be the boost Sano needed.

On the year, he’s hitting just .231 with six home runs and 15 RBIs. He’s been facing an uphill battle all season long, hitting under .200 under the latter half of April.

Anyone who can hit a ball 464 feet deserves some recognition, though, even if he plays for one of the worst teams in baseball. Hats off to you, Miguel, now how about you lead the Twins to win No. 9 Friday.
