Part of the card for WWE SummerSlam 2016 may be previewed at a June house show in Honolulu, HI
Though it’s still roughly three months away, many WWE fans are already buzzing about what the company has in store for WWE SummerSlam 2016. Given the disappointment that many fans experienced after WrestleMania 32, there are a lot of fans hoping that SummerSlam will make up for it and take things to another level. Fans might be able to get a glimpse of what they’re in store for at SummerSlam at the end of June, though, at a house show.
On June 29, there will be a WWE Live event—or a house show as many would call it—in Honolulu, HI. What’s highly intriguing about that show is that three performers that either aren’t full-time or aren’t on the main roster right now are currently being advertised for that show in Brock Lesnar, Shinsuke Nakamura, and NXT Women’s Champion Asuka.
What’s more is that a local commercial indicated that Lesnar will be facing Kevin Owens at the house show in a match many have been pining for. Even more intriguing is that Nakamura vs. John Cena was also announced. More buzz includes Asuka facing current WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte at the Honolulu show.
Though it could just be WWE either setting up a special for the WWE Network or just trying to treat fans that don’t get many shows to a stacked card, this could also be a test market for WWE SummerSlam 2016. Given the direction that the company could go, all three of those matches could be built to form the top-end of an incredible card for SummerSlam in Brooklyn, NY.
Who knows exactly what all the house show in Hawaii will entail. However, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on leading up to the June 29 event and up until SummerSlam.
