Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirms he’s played his last game in Paris (Photo)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed he is moving on from Paris Saint-Germain in his latest Instagram post.

In just four seasons, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has changed the culture of Paris Saint-Germain. Before his arrival, the last league title they won was in 1994, and by the time he left, they won in every season he played. He attracted some of the best players in the world, and made Paris a place where world-class stars wanted to play football. He also proved that age is just a number when he scored 46 goals in 49 games at the ripe old age of 34.

And yet, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Ibrahimovic has decided he will not renew his deal, and will instead depart for greener pastures. He confirmed as much in his latest Instagram post, which was classic Zlatan:

Even if he is grateful for everything the club has done for him and his time there, he didn’t make it sound that way. After all, despite everything he won at the French capital, what will remain is his and the team’s failure to win a Champions League.

Where he’ll play and in what country is really anybody’s guess. While some may say Manchester United or a return to AC Milan, it’s likely he’ll want to play for a team that will compete in the Champions League, as that is the only trophy that has eluded him throughout his illustrious career.

There are other, more lucrative, options that have emerged outside of Europe too in China and the MLS, and ESPN FC is even reporting that Ibrahimovic is “90% certain” to opt for the LA Galaxy over Manchester United. A move to the States is plausible if he wants to win a league title in five different countries, which would better former teammate David Beckham’s accomplishment of winning in four different countries.

Wherever he goes, the team needn’t worry about a transfer fee, only the wages, and where he will end up is going to be an intriguing storyline to follow throughout the offseason. Let the bidding war begin.
