Sergio Garcia can’t putt to save his life (Video)

Sergio Garcia hasn’t done this in a while, but the popular Spanish golfer on the PGA Tour managed to five-putt from eight feet away for a quadruple bogey.
Old habits die hard, especially on the golf course.
While this type of meltdown near the hole has plagued the popular Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia on and off throughout his lengthy PGA Tour career, Garcia had been able to put his putting woes to rest for the last few years.
That was, until Saturday afternoon’s episode at The Players Championship, where Garcia needed five putts to put the golf ball in the hole from only eight feet away.
This happened on the fifth hole, a par four. Garcia’s inability to sink a putt within feet of the hole resulted in the golfer getting a quadruple bogey on the hole.
Occasionally even the best golfers find a way to completely botch consecutive putts when they are on the green. Just last month at The Masters in Augusta, British golfer Ernie Els six-putted from inside six feet of the hole.
While Garcia’s poor putting on the fifth hole Saturday at The Players’ Championship was especially painful to watch, this isn’t the first time Garcia has hamstrung himself with the putter and it probably won’t be the last time.
Though Els six-putting episode and frankly Jordan Spieth’s disastrous Sunday at Augusta were probably better examples of choking on the golf course, given the immense popularity of The Masters, Garcia’s struggles on the green on Saturday is definitely one of the biggest blunders to have happened on the PGA Tour this season.
