The bomb that cancelled a Manchester United game turned out to be fake.
A game between Manchester United and Bournemouth was postponed when security guards found a bomb on the Old Trafford grounds. Security was heightened for the match before there was a bomb scare, but when the threat had surfaced, fans were evacuated out of the stadium. The match was initially postponed until 45 minutes later before being cancelled altogether and rescheduled for Tuesday.
But as it turned out, the bomb incident was only just a scare, as hours after the game was cancelled, people learned that the bomb was fake and part of a training exercise:
BREAKING: Police say fake bomb at Old Trafford had been left in soccer stadium following earlier security exercise.

Whoever the guard was that left the bomb there should be fired on the spot. There have been plenty of incidents of actual terrorist threats at soccer matches this year, the most prominent one being at an international friendly in Paris. Stuff like this is a very sensitive matter, and what initially looked like a threat to one of the most famous grounds in the world turned out to be the result of an irresponsible grounds worker. I definitely wouldn’t trust them with a real bomb threat.
Unfortunately for Manchester United fans, there’s really nothing to play for anymore. Manchester City’s draw against Swansea secured them a top four berth, which means that the Red Devils will miss out on the Champions League, and should surely see Louis van Gaal fired.
Fans have been frustrated with the team’s on-field performance all season, but once they realize that they got scared over nothing, they might lash out.
