Johnny Cueto gets World Series ring from Royals

Johnny Cueto received his World Series ring for his contributions to the 2015 Royals.

When the Kansas City Royals traded for Johnny Cueto, they were expecting that they would be getting an ace. While that was not true for a majority of his tenure with the Royals, his last outing was a complete game in the World Series during which he only gave up one earned run.

So in the end, the Royals did get the ace that helped them win the World Series.

Cueto signed with the San Francisco Giants during the offseason, but he will always remember his time with the Royals thanks to his World Series ring that he recently received from the Royals.

The Giants pitcher is off to a strong start in his first year in San Francisco. Cueto was expected to have success pitching with the Giants thanks to the luxury of pitching half of his games at AT&T Park, one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in baseball, but with a 2.97 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings over eight starts, he’s been the front of the rotation starter that the Giants have needed him to be.

Hopefully, Cueto can add to his World Series ring collection during his time in San Francisco. It is, after all, an even year. And everybody knows what the Giants are capable of doing in even years. The Giants have won the World Series in each of the past even years (2010, 2012, 2014).
