4. Manchester United

Louis van Gaal may coach his final game as Manchester United’s manager on Sunday against Old Trafford. It’s been a somewhat controversial tenure for the Dutch coach. There’s a clear goal for van Gaal and his side on Sunday against AFC Bournemouth.

A win on Sunday in front of the Armada would give United a chance at finishing in the top four spots in the Premier League table. As a result, they would make the play-off round of the 2016-17 Champions League qualifying. If they were to come away victorious, they would reach the Champions League group stage.

As one of the bigger clubs in the league, the expectation is that Manchester United at least make the Europa League each in every year. Yet, qualifying for the Champions League became the norm during Sir Alex Ferguson’s historic tenure in charge, so it is disappointing for United fans when their team misses out on the Champions League.

United needs some help in order to make the Champions League play-off round. They will need to win at home and have their bitter rivals, Manchester City, lose to Swansea City on the road. The chances are slim that City falls on the road to a less than stellar Swansea side, but anything is possible as Premier League fans have witnessed this season.
