5 reasons Las Vegas should get a NFL team now
By Jason Parker
4. The NFL has had success in other small markets
If Las Vegas was to get a NFL franchise, they would be the fifth smallest market in the entire league, trailing behind (in no particular order) Buffalo, Green Bay, Jacksonville and New Orleans when it comes to media ranking.
With the exception of the Jaguars, you can argue that the other three cities have the most dedicated fans of any team in the league. Even though the Bills haven’t been a quality team in over a decade, they still sell out their home and fans come out in support to matter what.
The Packers have been one of the most successful teams of all time both on the field and in the stands, while the Saints have become one of the main attractions in a city still recovering nearly a decade later from the tragedy that was Hurricane Katrina.
While it is true that the first three cities listed earlier are pretty much the only thing in town and that might be the reason for the support, New Orleans has plenty of things going on (including other pro sports) as well as casinos, attractions and this little thing called Mardi Gras. Las Vegas will be just fine.
