Jeremy Shockey kept his feud with Warren Sapp going as he posted the former NFL defensive tackle’s bankruptcy papers on Instagram
Just because two guys attended the same university, doesn’t mean they have to like one another. Never has that been more true than with the two former Miami Hurricanes, Jeremy Shockey and Warren Sapp.
On Monday, their beef escalated further when Shockey posted a picture of Sapp’s bankruptcy papers. Of course, as karma would have it, those papers were somehow sent to Shockey, who had no problem putting the outspoken Sapp on blast via Instagram.
The problem between the two started back when the New Orleans Saints were under investigation by the NFL for what was dubbed “Bountygate.” Sapp, an employee of the NFL Network at the time, said he had sources that told him Shockey was the snitch that got everyone in trouble.
Sapp of course was wrong. But even if he had been right, calling someone out on air without having any proof (or approval from their supervisors) is dangerous and wrong. The big defensive tackle was a Hall of Fame player, but was questionable as an analyst and saw his career end in controversy.
In February of 2015, Sapp was arrested for solicitation and assault. The following day he was fired by the NFL Network, a job he probably should have lost after erroneously outing Shockey.
