RALEIGH, NC - OCTOBER 28: Russell Wilson

A former teammate of Russell Wilson at NC State is calling out the quarterback for his comments about their coach at the school.

This weekend, current Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was on hand at the home of the Wisconsin Badgers (his alma mater) to deliver the commencement speech for the graduates of the school. During the speech, Wilson spoke about a message that he said was from the head coach of the first school he played with, the NC State Wolfpack.

Wilson told graduates that former head coach Tom O’Brien once said that the Super Bowl champion signal caller would “never play in the NFL”:

While O’Brien reportedly was not up in arms over what Russell Wilson had said, one former teammate of his at NC State is speaking out not so much for the coach, but against Wilson. Former offensive lineman Kalani Heppe took to Facebook and delivered a NSFW message against his former signal caller in Raleigh. The message was put on Twitter by a blogger for the Wolfpack:

Russell Wilson insist that O’Brien was the reason that he left NC State after three seasons and finished his career in the Big Ten before being picked in the third round by Seattle in 2012. Heppe is not the first person to say that Wilson put more attention on playing both sports instead of focusing on Wolfpack football.

In his four seasons in the NFL, Russell Wilson has led the Seahawks to the playoffs each season and won the Super Bowl in his second year, while making it back the following season.
