Sammy Watkins has reportedly suffered a broken foot for the Buffalo Bills recently

To say that Monday was not the best day for Buffalo Bills players from Clemson would be a bit of an understatement. Not long after we learned that first-round draft pick Shaq Lawson would need shoulder surgery, we learned that wide receiver Sammy Watkins is suffering from more injury issues as well.

According to Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News, Watkins suffered a broken foot some time recently that will obviously keep him out of action for a bit this spring/summer.

Watkins, from Clemson, is getting set to enter his third year in the NFL with the Bills this upcoming season. Last year he showed flashes of the great player many thought he would be, surpassing over 1,000 yards for the first time in his short career on 60 catches with nine touchdowns.

Since his time at Clemson, however, Watkins has battled injuries, including an ankle injury last year that caused him to miss some action.

It’s not known at this time whether or not the injury will require surgery, which would keep him out for a little longer than expected obviously. As more on the Watkins injury becomes available, we will keep you updated on the status of the Bills wide receiver.
