According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Portland Trail Blazers and head coach Terry Stotts have agreed to a contract extension.
After the Portland Trail Blazers lost four starters before the 2015-2016 season to free agency, the Trail Blazers were one of the league favorites to finish with the worst record and firmly position themselves for a chance at being able to select Ben Simmons.
Instead, the Trail Blazers’ front office made a bunch of savvy moves to surround their young talent with even more young talent and the team went on a deep run in the playoffs, before they ultimately were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors.
The man responsible for leading the Trail Blazers every night, Terry Stotts, did a tremendous job with the roster given to him and had some of the best rotations in the league that gave everyone fits and they never quit despite the fact they weren’t supposed to succeed.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Trail Blazers and Stotts have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Portland for the future.

Of all the coaching moves being made in the NBA thus far, this is one of the moves that makes the most sense in the world. With the way Trail Blazers fought admirably in every game, it was clear that Stotts had a strong influence in the locker room and had his players working hard every night on the court.
With a young nucleus that is only going to continue to grow and get better, keeping around Stotts is an absolute must for the franchise. Now they have gotten that taken care of and can turn their attention to the draft and free agency.
