Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson was arrested with a teammate Tuesday morning on drugs and weapons charges

Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Cam Robinson was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges of possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen gun, according to a report from ESPN.

Robinson was arrested along with teammate Laurence “Hootie” Jones in Robinson’s hometown of Monroe, Louisiana. According to the police report, a police officer approached the car and he detected an odor of marijuana. From that point, a bag of marijuana was found, as were an illegal handgun in plain sight and a stolen handgun underneath the passenger seat. It’s understood that at this point, the two are still in custody.

As a freshman in 2014, Robinson started for the Tide after coming in with a lot of hype and he has been there ever since. He’s grown into one of the best offensive linemen in the country as he gets set to enter his junior year in Tuscaloosa and is projected at the moment to be one of the top NFL Draft picks in 2017 should he choose to come out. Now, though, he has a few more worries on his hands.

Robinson was a first team All-SEC selection in 2015.

As more information comes out about the arrest of Robinson and Jones, we will keep you updated.
