The Europa League Final is set between Liverpool and Sevilla and will take place at St Jakob-Park.

The Europa League Final is set to take place between England’s Liverpool and Spain’s Sevilla. The Spanish club has dominated this competition recently, winning it back-to-back. Liverpool will have their hands full in this match, as Sevilla is use to the pressure of the Europa League Final.

The match will take place at Swiss club, FC Basel’s St Jakob-Park on Wednesday, May 18th at 2:45 pm EST. The stadium is currently the second smallest venue to host the final, as it can hold around 38,000 fans.

The two enter the final, with Liverpool defeating Spanish club Villarreal 3-0 and Sevilla defeating Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk 3-1.

This will be the first time ever that these two have faced off in a european competition and could see Sevilla become the most successful club in Europa League history. Sevilla, four-time winners, have one more title than their opponents Liverpool, who are tied with Italian clubs Inter and Juventus with three apiece. The last time the English team won this competition was back in 2001.

Liverpool fans will hope their manager, Jurgen Klopp, can help bring a title to the Merseyside club, as they haven’t won a trophy since the 2011-12 League Cup. They also finished the season eighth in the Premier League and have missed out on european competition for next year, unless they win the final over Sevilla.

Sevilla are trying to get a win as well, after they finished seventh in La Liga and will have to go through the qualification process to make it to next years Europa League. A win would give them an automatic Champions League spot.
