The Philadelphia 76ers may have had the worst record in the 2015-16 NBA regular season, but they don’t deserve the No. 1 pick.

The 2015-16 Philadelphia 76ers were one of the worst basketball teams of the modern era. They finished with easily the worst record in the NBA with a 10-72 regular season record, grabbing a 25% chance at getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery.

This comes as absolutely no surprise, as the 76ers organization has shamelessly tanked the last three NBA seasons in an effort to obtain that highly coveted No. 1 overall pick by playing the percentages. To date, the 76ers have been unsuccessful in their quest since blowing up their team a few years back.

While statistically the 76ers do have the best chance to draft their choice between either LSU’s Ben Simmons or Duke’s Brandon Ingram No. 1 overall in this summer’s NBA Draft, do the 76ers deserve the opportunity to pick first in the draft? No, because they did this to themselves in painstaking fashion.

Besides inherent disregard for fielding any iota of a competitive team the last three seasons, here are five more reasons that the 76ers should not win the rights to pick first in the 2016 NBA Draft thanks to a ping-pong ball.
