Re-drafting the 2015 NBA Draft
By John Buhler
It hasn’t been a year since the 2015 NBA Draft, but there has been enough of a shakeup in player development to take a stab at a re-draft only a year later.
With the 2016 NBA Playoffs about to enter the Conference Finals portion of the postseason slate, outside of a few elite teams, most NBA rookies have already had their first year in the league come to a close.
Many of the top picks in the 2015 NBA Draft had overwhelming success as rookies during the 2015-16 NBA season. Others failed to pan out as anticipated in their first year in the league for one reason or another. Then there are a handful of late first-round picks and even some second-rounders that somehow slipped through the cracks to have great rookie seasons.
While it usually takes about three to four years to fully appreciate all that went down in an NBA Draft, there are now a few first round selections that some teams may want a do-over on. There are even a few teams that got outstanding value from their allocated draft position.
Knowing what we know now and all that transpired in the 2015-16 NBA regular season, here’s what a re-draft of the 2015 NBA Draft might look like at this time.
