2016 NBA Mock Draft: Sixers win the lottery, land Ben Simmons

Oklahoma. Buddy Hield . 8. player. 67. <p>Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield will bring at least one elite skill with him to the next level. As a senior, he delivered one of the most efficient shooting performances on a high usage in recent memory. Hield attempted 30.9 percent of the Sooners’ shots when he was on the floor, but still posted a 66.5 true shooting percentage. In particular, he knocked down 147 of his 322 (45.7 percent) three-point attempts while taking 8.6 threes per 40 minutes.</p> <p>The question for Hield is how well he’ll defend at the next level. His box score statistics don’t stand out, but there are a couple of positive signs for the 22-year old. First, he measured in with a 6-9.25 wingspan at the draft combine, which should give him the length to compete against NBA size. Second, while it’s not a perfect measuring stick, Hield played a high percentage of minutes for an Oklahoma team that ranked in the top 20 of adjusted defensive efficiency in back-to-back seasons.
