Diana Taurasi has made her return to the WNBA with a vengeance. First she reminded everybody that just cause she’s been out of the game for a year doesn’t mean she’ll fall for simple tricks. Then she did one better. In a close contest between the Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever, Taurasi sank a huge shot late in the game to try and get her team within striking distance. Oh, and she did it while getting fouled.
This is such an insanely difficult shot, and she made it look soooooo easy. The defender is right there, the distance is well behind the line, and then she’s getting hit on the attempt. With all of this Taurasi still sank it, put the game within reach, and then got to go to the free throw line to get it even closer. Unfortunately for Phoenix it wasn’t enough to get them the win.
