Re-draft 2003 NBA Draft
If there’s one constant of re-drafts of the 2003 NBA Draft, LeBron James will always be the pick at No. 1 for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even before he was drafted, he was considered the biggest prospect in ages in the draft.
James of course would go onto lead the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in 2007 and again in 2015, when he returned to the organization after a stint with the Miami Heat. James has won multiple MVP’s in his career and has drawn comparisons to Michael Jordan.
In terms of No. 1 overall picks in history, he certainly ranks in the discussion of best ever. A draft class truly can’t be in the discussion for best class of all time without a legend being taken at the first spot.
James being taken No. 1 overall by Cleveland is where the discussion of greatness for this class begins. There’s absolutely no debate about whether or not the Cavaliers made the right pick taking the hometown player.
The only question now for the career of James is whether or not he can bring home a championship to Cleveland. If he does that, then his legend is forever set in this league.
