25. player. 64. . SG. Kentucky. Keith Bogans

Keith Bogan was another one of those second-round picks that really built himself a long career in the NBA. In this re-draft of the 2003 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons took Carmelo Anthony with the No. 2 pick instead and they probably win a couple more championships during that era of great teams that they had.

So for their second pick, it only makes sense for them to take a guy that was tough on the court, could play defense and shoot the ball from beyond the arc a little big. Bogans would have made a tremendous pick for Detroit with their second round pick and he would have provided nice rotational depth behind Richard Hamilton.

The Pistons took Carlos Delfino instead and while he eventually became a decent scorer, he didn’t really have much of an impact in helping the Pistons make a run toward deep playoff runs and the NBA Finals.

Looking back, Bogans would have just made so much more sense as a fit. He was a natural born leader and a guy that would have been beloved in Detroit.

Just think of what the Pistons could have done in the mid-2000’s if their draft haul was Anthony and Bogans instead of Darko Miličić and Delfino.
