Chad Kelly will be quarterbacking a potentially very strong 2016 Ole Miss Rebels team. Here are five reasons Kelly can win the 2016 Heisman Trophy.

Entering the 2016 NCAA season, the SEC West is sure to maintain its grip as the best division in the Power 5. In this juggernaut division, there is a solid chance that all seven teams can get to a bowl game, with three realistically vying for the SEC West crown: the Alabama Crimson Tide, the LSU Tigers, and the Ole Miss Rebels.

Alabama is an absolute dynasty under head coach Nick Saban, winning four of the last seven national championships. LSU has an elite head coach and an NFL running back in Les Miles and Leonard Fournette, respectively.

And then there’s Ole Miss, who have themselves a great head coach in Hugh Freeze and a talented SEC roster led by senior quarterback Chad Kelly. While Kelly has only played one season in Oxford for the Rebels, his 2015 NCAA campaign was excellent, as Ole Miss continued to prove that they have one of the best teams in the SEC and the Power 5.

For Ole Miss to win the SEC West for the first time since 1992’s initial expansion, win the SEC and represent the conference in the third Annual College Football Playoff, Kelly will have to have a monster 2016. Here are five reasons the Ole Miss quarterback can win the 2016 Heisman Trophy.
