Bowie Baysox pitcher Ashur Tolliver somehow managed to snag a line drive with his bare hand.
There’s nothing more frightening for a pitcher on the mound than having a baseball lined right back at them at blistering speed. These moments have caused severe injuries and have led to the introduction of special caps worn by pitchers if they so feel inclined to do so.
One pitcher that doesn’t need a special hat is Ashur Tolliver. The Baysox pitcher showed no fear and might have made one of the greatest catches ever, when he stuck out his bare hand on a line drive shot and caught the baseball with ease.
He made it look so easy on the play, that the announcer calling the game about had a heart attack from the screaming in disbelief that he did.
Just look at the way that Tolliver remains calm and collected as he reaches his hand out to snag a ball that likely could have broken bones and probably should have.
However, Tolliver was just fine and he can add the title of badass to his resume. It takes a special type of reflex to make a play like that, but for Tolliver it was no issue at all.
