Sharks forward Tomas Hertl went top shelf glove side against Blues goaltender Brian Elliott to give his team a 1-0 lead in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

Entering Game 3 against the St. Louis Blues, the San Jose Sharks came out with a ton of energy looking to grab an early lead. Thanks to an excellent snipe from forward Tomas Hertl, the Sharks took an early 1-0 lead against the Blues. The snipe would not have happened had it not been for a perfect pass from Sharks captain Joe Pavelski.

Pavelski does an excellent job drawing the attention of the Blues and finding Hertl wide open on the opposite side. Of course, give credit Hertl for nailing the shot. It’s one thing to get a wide open shot like Hertl’s, it’s quite another to actually hit it.

After getting 46 points in 81 games during the regular season, Hertl has been a great contributor for the Sharks in the postseason. That goal is his fourth goal of the postseason. He now has seven playoff points in 15 playoff games. Overall, that’s good for 53 points in 96 games. Pretty good considering Hertl is still just 22 years old. Ever want to feel old? Think about what Hertl’s doing at the age of 22.
