1. The road to the NBA Finals is easier

The biggest advantage that Kevin Durant would be a great fit for the Miami Heat is that the road to the NBA Finals is a lot easier. In the Eastern Conference, there is currently no team that can even come close to touching LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That is because most teams in the Eastern Conference lack a superstar or their best players are on the aging side of things. In Miami, Durant would provide a foil to James and would be able to lead the Heat to some serious battles against James and the Cavaliers.

With a deep roster around him, it wouldn’t be an easy trip to the NBA Finals for the Cavaliers any longer. Add in the fact that they have one of the best men in the league assembling their roster and Durant would be hard pressed not to join the Heat.

In the Western Conference, Durant has only been able to make it to one trip to the NBA Finals to date and has had to deal with plenty of heartbreak in the Western Conference Finals thus far in his career.

That rough stretch of the playoffs doesn’t exist in the Eastern Conference. The chance to reach multiple trips to the NBA Finals is there.
