Miami Heat reportedly expect star forward Chris Bosh to be ready to play next season
A recent report suggests that Chris Bosh will be ready to play for the Miami Heat next season.
According to Dan Le Batard of ESPN, the Miami Heat are expecting star forward Chris Bosh to return to the court next season. Le Batard reported the news on his ESPN Radio show on Friday.
"“I just got a text saying that Bosh should be able to play next season,” LeBatard said. “So, the Heat expect Bosh to be able to play next season.”"
Bosh has not played since the first-half of the season, after learning what was originally though-of as a cramp in his leg, actually turned out to be a serious blood clot. Bosh’s health condition was once considered serious, but it has cleared up recently. The Heat may think that Bosh is ready to return next season, but a recent report told us the exact opposite.
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst had a much grimmer look at Bosh’s situation. Windhorst cited several sources when reporting: “There is a fear within the Heat organization that Bosh’s condition will prevent him from ever being cleared to play by team doctors.”
Obviously we have conflicting reports here. Windhorst is the NBA insider who always seems to have strong information, but Le Batard is a Miami local guy who undoubtedly has strong sources in the area.
Perhaps something has changed in the past few days that makes members of the Heat organization more optimistic about Bosh’s return to the court? Regardless, I doubt that LeBatard’s report was something made out of thin air.
If he is ready to return next season, the Heat will have a nice core of players to build around. If they can re-sign Hassan Whiteside, a returning Bosh brings a huge missing element to a talented Miami squad. With Bosh in the line-up, they could be the team to compete with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East.
