Here’s a quick look at the over/under bets for the AFC North teams in 2016.
The AFC North should be a very competitive division in 2016. While the Cincinnati Bengals won the division in 2015, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens have both improved significantly during the offseason. The Cleveland Browns have improved as well. That should lead to an extremely competitive division in 2016 with the Bengals, Ravens and Steelers all having a realistic chance of taking the division title.
Listed below are the over/under win totals for each AFC North team, courtesy of Bovada.
Baltimore Ravens: 8.5
Cincinnati Bengals: 9.5
Cleveland Browns: 4.5
Pittsburgh Steelers: 10.5
Best Bet
Without a doubt, the safest bet is the Bengals. They have suffered a few offseason losses, but even the most pessimistic of Bengals fans has to think their team will win more than nine games in 2016. Football is weird sometimes, and injuries can derail a season. But barring a serious injury to Andy Dalton or A.J. Green, the Bengals are definitely winning more than nine games. The Ravens are a pretty safe bet as well, since they have upgraded their roster from last season and will be getting guys back healthy.
Worst Bet
The Steelers aren’t a terrible option, but they are the worst bet of the bunch. Pittsburgh is going to be a very good team, but injuries could easily curse them. It’s just as easy to imagine them winning 11 games as it is to imagine them winning eight. Cleveland will push four to five wins, so they’re a bad bet as well.
Keep an eye on the north this season. Whoever comes out on top will be a battle-tested team.
