21. Joey Gallo, Texas Rangers

Gallo made his major league debut last year to much fanfare and continued to build the buzz around himself once he got there, roaring out to a sensational 11 game start, connecting for four home runs and seven RBI, while hitting .300.

However, once pitchers wised up to him, he saw his contact rate plummet and was back to the minors by the time the Rangers season began to pick up en route to an AL West title. Now a year later, Gallo finds himself back at Triple-A Round Rock again, working on his swing and looking to find a way back into the picture in Texas.

But with raw power like his (Gallo connected for 40 home runs in consecutive years as a 19- and 20-year-old), sooner or later it will click and the opportunity for him to break through into the majors will arrive. The presence of Mitch Moreland, Shin-Soo Choo, Adrian Beltre and Nomar Mazara makes it hard to find a clear place to get Gallo at-bats currently, but with his batting average and on-base percentages way up from last season, he is showing progression and will get his chance back in Texas as soon as there is a dip in production at one of his positions.
