5. Orlando Arcia, Milwaukee Brewers

In their efforts to go all-in with their rebuild, the Brewers should ensure making space for Orlando Arcia is a top priority. Arcia is another talent being forced to wait for May to turn into June, when his service time is safely secured.

He has done all he can as a minor leaguer. During his climb up the ladder towards the majors, he has stolen 25+ bases in each of the past two seasons, while seeing his batting average climb steadily as well. On the year, he is hitting right at .300 again, and could be the type of surprising hitter that Cleveland’s Francisco Lindor was after his call up last year.

Jonathan Villar has been a welcome surprise for the Brewers this season, but he hasn’t been good enough to delay Arcia’s call up, or to limit his playing time once he arrives in the majors. Arcia is unlikely to be the hitter either Trea Turner or Dansby Swanson could be immediately upon reaching the majors, but he profiles as a catalyst that can bring some life to the bottom part of the order and be a steady hand in the field as well. He will get plenty of opportunities to learn on the job.
