Looking at the full jockey list and mount on the 11 horses racing in the 2016 Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 21

The 2016 Preakness Stakes has had quite a buildup given what happened in the first leg of the Triple Crown and what happened last year with American Pharoah. Now Nyquist will look to follow closely in those hoof-prints on Saturday, May 21 as he takes on 10 other horses at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD for the Preakness Stakes with a $1.5 million purse up for grabs.

Nyquist as the winner of the Kentucky Derby is the heavy favorite in the 2016 Preakness Stakes. However, sometimes a great horse is only as good as the jockey on his or her back. Therefore, it’s important to look at the jockeys.

With that in mind, here is the jockey list and mount for the 2016 Preakness Stakes:

Obviously Mario Gutierrez is staying on Nyquist after winning the Kentucky Derby as they’ll look to team up to get the second leg of the Triple Crown under their belt with a win at the Preakness on Saturday. We’ll see if another proven jockey like Kent Desormeaux can come through with an upset on Exaggerator or if someone else will come out of nowhere to get the win.
