Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan forgot to guard Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith, who burned Toronto with a three.
The Toronto Raptors have struggled mightily against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Playoffs. However, sometimes you really have to wonder just how exactly a team like the Raptors got in the playoffs when they self-destruct almost better than any other team in the league.
When the Raptors are bad, they are really bad. Case in point was early on against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, when DeMar DeRozan forgot to do his job and guard J.R. Smith.
Anyone that knows Smith, knows that he’s going to pull up and unload from deep any chance he gets. DeRozan might have been sleeping on the court, because Smith unloaded from deep and burned the Raptors.
It’s yet another disappointing moment in a long line of disappointing moments for the Raptors in the postseason this year. Really, it’s a credit and a damnation that they’ve been able to get as far as they have playing this way.
Their run is almost over fortunately. It hasn’t been fun to watch.
