Qualifying for the 2016 NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been canceled due to weather.

One of the more exciting events of the weekend at the 2016 NASCAR All-Star Race is the annual qualifying session beforehand. This is always a fun time and it is a great test of strategy to see where each driver places.

However, just like many events on the weekend in the Charlotte area, qualifying for the event has been canceled due to weather in the area. Many fans were upset, as one of the few events they were looking forward to was canceled.

This isn’t just a small storm either. Things are expected to continue and with the way weather is moving in the area, this storm doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.

What effect that has on the race remains to be seen, but it’s clear that if this keeps up, the 2016 NASCAR All-Star Race could be in serious jeopardy of starting, unless NASCAR wants to run it in the middle of the night.

It’s really going to come down to whether or not NASCAR wants to proceed forward, as the race is for cash and doesn’t have any bearing on the season.
