Nyquist won a wildly exciting Kentucky Derby in the first leg of the Triple Crown. If the 2016 Preakness is anywhere near as exciting as that, horse racing fans are in for a treat on Saturday. After winning the Derby, Nyquist is obviously the favorite. However, Exaggerator and Stradivari are two fast horses that could make a play before it’s all said and done in Baltimore.
The TV schedule at Pimlico leading up to the 2016 Preakness Stakes is going to be quite simple. The undercard races are going to start at 2:30 p.m. ET with the coverage being on NBC Sports Network. At 5 p.m. ET, the coverage will switch to NBC for the main races. That’s where the coverage will stay when the Preakness is run at 6:45 p.m. ET.
Here’s a look at the field, the posts, and the odds for each horse according to the morning lines at the Preakness:
Post | Horse | Morning Line Odds |
1 | Cherry Wine | 20-1 |
2 | Uncle Lino | 20-1 |
3 | Nyquist | 3-5 |
4 | Awesome Speed | 30-1 |
5 | Exaggerator | 3-1 |
6 | Lani | 30-1 |
7 | Collected | 10-1 |
8 | Laoban | 30-1 |
9 | Abiding Star | 30-1 |
10 | Fellowship | 30-1 |
11 | Stradivari | 8-1 |
Of course Nyquist is the favorite after the win at the Kentucky Derby, but Exaggerator was close behind there and could be so again on Saturday evening at the Preakness.
