Preakness Stakes 2016: Updated weather report
By Josh Hill
What is the weather report at the Preakness Stakes as we approach the running of the main races?
The running of the Preakness Stakes is tonight, but it won’t be a dry run in any way. Not only will the results stick but so will the infield dirt, as rain is going to muddy things up for the horses trying to upset Nyqvist’s run to a Triple Crown.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve had weather issues at the Preakness in recent history. Just last year, the infield and stands had to be evacuated due to in climate weather that rolled through the area.
So having some rain at the Preakness Stakes isn’t a life changing thing.
In fact, it shouldn’t even be a race altering thing. Any good trainer will have his horse prepared for any and all conditions, including conditions that you know might be a factor at a track. Rain is always random, but if you know a race is prone to being run in the rain, then you’d best come prepared or not come at all.
