The Toronto Raptors simply could not be bothered with the notion of defense in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Toronto Raptors have not had a great start to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Seeing their attitude on the floor in the first quarter of Game 3, the Raptors only have themselves to blame.
There were countless instances of bad defense and being too busy complaining to the refs, while the Cavaliers were on the other end scoring points. The first being on DeMarre Carroll for forgetting to guard J.R. Smith, who would hit an open three right in his face.
If Carroll wasn’t playing bad enough on defense, he really upped his game after he thought he was fouled on a play. As Carroll was complaining about a lack of a call to an official, LeBron James was down on the other end of the floor throwing down a huge dunk.
At this point, it’s not even fun to watch anymore and the Raptors clearly are focused on the wrong things. They refused to play defense and it led to points on the other end.
Fortunately for them, some members of the team cared enough on offense to give them the lead after a quarter of play.
