In the heart of the NASCAR season there lies a special event unlike anything else in NASCAR or in racing of all sorts. Once known as The Winston and capturing the hearts and eyes of fans for decades at this point now, the NASCAR All-Star Race is finally here on Saturday, May 21.

Rather than just being a set number of miles and the drivers going around the track as many times as it takes to get to that number, the NASCAR All-Star Race changes it all up. Not only do you have to qualify either by winning a preliminary race, by winning a race this season, by winning a race last season, or being a NASCAR All-Star Race winners, but the format of the race itself is different.

On Saturday night when the NASCAR All-Star Race finally gets ready to get underway, it’ll be two 50-lap races and then a mad 13-lap dash to the finish where the winner will get the big payday attached to this highly special and highly unique event.

With so much on the line and with such a special format for this event, fans may be wondering what track they hold the NASCAR All-Star Race at.

As it has been for recent installments of the event, the 2016 NASCAR All-Star Race will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC.
