Draymond Green kicks Steven Adams in groin in Game 3 (Video)
Draymond Green was assessed a Flagrant 1 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals for kicking Thunder center Steven Adams in the family jewels
Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams has certainly been on the end of some bad breaks through the first two-and-a-half games in the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors. He injured his back in Game 2, which was ultimately a loss for OKC. Heading home for Game 3, though, he suffered a fate much more painful at the hands (or the foot, rather) of Warriors forward Draymond Green.
In the second quarter, Green had the ball down low and was trying to body Adams down to get a shot off. As he went up, Adams got a piece of him on a foul that jarred the ball loose. Exaggerating the contact just a bit, Green then flung his leg out at Steven Adams and hit the big New Zealander right in the kiwis:
That’s a fate that no man should ever have to suffer, but it’s definitely a fate that NBA players surely would like to be free from.
Green was handed a Flagrant 1 for the excessive contact on the nether-regions of Steven Adams and rightfully so. Even if he’s showing the contact, the leg kick seemed like a bit much.
As for Adams, he went to the sideline briefly before returning. For his sake both physically and mentally, let’s hope he avoids instances like this moving forward.
