Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh has made an HBK sandwich so of course Shawn Michaels had to try it before Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

It’s only appropriate that the original Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels is a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and their “HBK” line featuring Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, and Phil Kessel. Much like Michaels was a consistent deliverer and the showstopper at virtually every WWE pay-per-view that he participated in, the HBK line has been huge in the playoffs for the Penguins. In honor of the HBK line and Michaels, Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh created an HBK sandwich. Michaels and his friend Brett Keisel, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, decided to check it out before hitting up Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Consol Energy Center.

The HBK sandwich features ham, bacon, and kielbasa. As is tradition in the city of Pittsburgh, it also features cole slaw and french fries on it. A fitting sandwich for a forward line that has carried the Penguins in the playoffs and arguably the most famous WWE wrestler of all-time.

Hagelin, Bonino, and Kessel have combined for 41 points (15 goals and 26 assists) in 15 playoff games. They have been a huge reason for the Penguins’ playoff success despite getting less than ideal production from Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. While Crosby and Malkin have combined for 24 points in 15 games, Malkin has not played well in the second or third round of the playoffs while Crosby was invisible throughout the second round.
