Two legends met at Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals when Shawn Michaels and Mario Lemieux crossed paths.

WWE legend Shawn Michaels went to Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals thanks to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who encouraged him to come and even wound up giving him a custom “HBK” jersey. Michaels also got to try out the HBK Sandwich at Primanti Brothers. The most awesome part of his evening was when he got to meet Penguins owner and Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux.

The HBK jersey was especially creative because it was number 156, which is the combined jersey numbers of the “HBK” forward line that consists of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, and Phil Kessel. Unfortunately for Michaels, the HBK line was virtually non-existent in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Hagelin picked up one assist and that was it from a trio that went into game five averaging roughly three points per game as a trio.

Still, meeting Lemieux has to be pretty darn cool for Michaels. Michaels has had some great memories in Pittsburgh. While it wasn’t quite as great as his SummerSlam ladder match against Razor Ramon at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in 1995 that saw HBK win the Intercontinental Championship, Michaels surely had an unforgettable evening in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
