New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon made a hilarious comment to one Washington Nationals catcher during Monday’s game about him not trying to swing.

Over two weeks ago, life changed for New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon. No longer was he just known as the larger than life starter for the defending National League champs who was testing the boundaries of belts and uniforms in the MLB…no, he became a hitting machine.

Against the San Diego Padres, Colon connected on a pitch and hit his first career home run. The moment was one of the highlights through the first two months of the season and may go down as one of the more hilarious moments in the sport over the past few years.

Apparently, that was enough for Bartolo Colon and he has no desire to hit a second bomb before he hangs up his cleats. One beat writer for the Wall Street Journal sent out this hilarious tweet after the Mets’ game against the Washington Nationals:

You know what…good for Bartolo Colon! He shouldn’t have to hit the ball if he doesn’t want to. Big Bartolo has already done enough at the plate this season, and the Mets should be able to have a designated hitter whenever he is pitching so that he can rest for the post game buffet and not have to worry about swinging the bat three times and going back to the dugout.

In Bartolo Colon’s 19th season in the majors, he has just 21 hits total and has a ROBUST batting average of .090, so he has done his part.
