Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo thinks that he has plenty of years left, despite coming off various injuries that have sidelined him recently.

For the Dallas Cowboys, their hopes of returning to the NFL playoffs will rest on the freshly repaired shoulder of their star quarterback, Tony Romo. After playing in a career low four games last season after breaking his collarbone and then later re-injuring it after coming back, Romo is prepared for his 11th season as the starter under center for “America’s Team”.

At 36 years of age, Tony Romo is facing the downhill side of his NFL career and theoretically doesn’t have that much time left to play. Don’t tell that to Romo, as he told reporters following Wednesday’s practice that he is far from done and is getting back to his old form, according to ESPN.com:

"“I’m not in my mid-20s anymore, but I do think based on what my situation has been like the last three or four years, I do think this [offseason] is drastically different,”“It takes me back five years ago when I was able to do things the way [I had]. I’m not there yet. I still got these months to just get after it, but it’s exciting to actually be able to get after it a little bit. But if everything keeps going the way it’s going, I think it’s going to be exciting going into camp.”"

Tony Romo hasn’t played a full season since 2012 and has done so just four times in his career. In addition to the shoulder surgeries this past season, Romo had two surgeries on his back before the 2013 season and was restricted in previous training camps as a result.

Romo is under contract through the 2019 season, though owner Jerry Jones says Romo could play even longer at this rate. The Cowboys did draft quarterback Dak Prescott in the fourth round of this year’s draft after a stellar college career with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
