DraftKings Late MLB Picks For May 26

There are only five evening games today, which really limits our options. How can you get the most from your lineup today? Let’s check the past histories!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Kevin Gausman has never faced the Astros, but he could be worth using against them because of the Astros propensity for striking out. Jon Gray has never faced the Red Sox, and it would be a pretty big risk to use him here.

Best Bet:

Joe Ross ($8,100): Ross has not pitched very well lately, but his career numbers against the Cardinals are very good. The Cardinals have only hit .219 off of Ross in 32 at bats with just one extra base hit and three runs scored. He has only struck out six, but when you factor all of those numbers in together, it looks like Ross should  have a good night.

Lance McCullers, Jr. ($8,600): The Orioles are a combined 4-19(.211) off of McCullers with eight strikeouts. His high strikeout potential puts him up here, but there is still risk attached to using him. I would rather roll the dice with Ross.

Honorable Mention:

Miguel Gonzalez ($6,300): Gonzalez has held the Royals to a .235 average in 98 at bats while striking out 19, but he has allowed three homers and 14 runs. He will give up the runs, but the strikeouts and the favorable matchup with Danny Duffy should cause him to come out enough ahead to warrant using.

Dark Horse:

Wily Peralta ($5,100): Yes, his ERA is near 7, but he is playing the Braves. A team that is hitting a measly .190 off of him in 21 at bats. They have only struck out three times, but they have also hit only one home run (by Freddie Freeman in seven at bats). Starting anyone against Atlanta has been a pretty safe bet lately.

There may be a stack in order on Mike Leake. Danny Espinosa ($2,500) is only -19(.211) against Leake, but he has a double, two homers, and four RBI. Wilson Ramos ($3,400) is 4-15(.267) with a double, a walk, two homers, and three RBI off Leake. Jayson Werth ($3,500) is 7-21 with four walks, a double, a homer, and three RBI. Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy, Michael Taylor, and Bryce Harper have all taken Leake out of the yard as well.

Jose Abreu ($4,300) is 7-19(.368) with three walks, a double, a homer, and two RBI against Danny Duffy in his career. Austin Jackson ($3,200) is 8-25(.320) with four walks, two doubles, and a solo homer off of Duffy. Dioner Navarro ($3,700) is 2-5 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI off Duffy. It could be a good night for Sox righties!

Mark Reynolds ($3,300) is 5-15 with three walks, a double, two homers, and three RBI off of Clay Buchholz. Ryan Raburn ($3,200) is 4-12 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Buchholz.

Omar Infante only has one hit off of Miguel Gonzalez in eight at bats, but he has driven in four runs. Eric Hosmer is just 1-13(.077), but he has three RBI. Lorenzo Cain ($4,300) is 3-6 with a solo homer off of Gonzalez. Salvador Perez ($4,100) is

Mark Trumbo ($4,000) is 2-4 with a double and three RBI against Lance McCullers Jr.
