Baseball legend Pete Rose wants to know what baseball wants from him in regards to gambling.

The story of Pete Rose and gambling is never going to come to an end. While it’s not likely that Rose will get into the Hall of Fame in the near future and it’s pretty much been all but squashed, Rose still is making comments about trying to figure out what exactly baseball wants from him.

With Rose going into the Cincinnati Reds’ Hall of Fame, he spoke to Cincinnati Magazine, where he explained why he doesn’t understand people having an issue with him gambling and enjoying his life how he wants to. Even more interesting is Rose alluding to the fact that he would walk away from gambling if that is what baseball wants.

"I guess my point is, just tell me what you want me to do and I’ll do it. I’m in control. Just tell me. If I want to bet on Monday Night Football, and that’s the way I enjoy my life, why is everybody so worried about that? I’m 75 years old, I have to be able to have some form of entertainment. I’m not betting out of my means. It’s not illegal. If you don’t want me to bet on baseball or anything else, just tell me."

Rose would also point out that the reason he got in trouble was for illegal gambling and that he no longer partakes in it.

It’s clear from his comments that the Hall of Fame is still No. 1 on his mind and that he hasn’t given up the fight to get in. While he says that he wants to know what baseball wants from him, it’s easier said than done about whether or not he could give up gambling on baseball.

It’s a story that is nothing new and it’s likely going to keep popping up as long as he is alive.
