Wizards forward Markieff Morris has been detained at the Philadelphia airport for allegedly having marijuana in his bag.

When the Washington Wizards acquired Markieff Morris at the NBA Trade Deadline from the Phoenix Suns, they thought they were getting a forward that would help put them into a playoff spot and play to the level that he had just played a season prior.

Morris was a troubled player in the league and the Wizards were willing to take the risk of getting a motivated player. While the Wizards missed the playoffs and Morris didn’t provide them with everything that they thought they would, the team is still optimistic about what he can do with a full offseason with the team under his belt.

Unfortunately for the Wizards and Morris, it looks like he has found himself in more trouble with the law. According to CSN’s John Gonzalez, Morris was detained at the Philadelphia airport for allegedly having what was suspected to be marijuana in his bag.

For the Wizards, this is the type of behavior that they were probably hoping that they would be avoiding by acquiring Morris. While on the grand scale of offenses, it’s low on the totem pole, it’s just another thing to add to the list or Morris incidents.

It remains to be seen whether or not he did have marijuana on him, but regardless this is something the Wizards wanted to avoid.
