2016 Stanley Cup Finals: Reaction to ESPN Predictions
By Nick Ziegler
The 2016 Stanley Cup Finals are set between the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks, and ESPN experts have weighed in on who will be the winner.
The San Jose Sharks and the Pittsburgh Penguins are the final two teams standing at the end of the season, and they will be starting the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday, May 30. With a few days off for both teams, ESPN had their hockey experts pick the winner and how many games they believe the series will go.
Out of 10 experts, seven picked the Sharks to defeat the Penguins in the Finals, but all of the experts were in agreement that the series will be going at least six games either way. The experts also have done picks for the previous rounds of the playoffs, and Linda Cohn was the only expert that picked both teams correctly in the right amount of games for the Conference Finals.
With Cohn riding a hot streak in her predictions, she might be the expert that gets is correct again, as she has picked the Penguins to defeat the Sharks in seven games. If Cohen is right, this will be the second Stanley Cup victory for Sidney Crosby.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs have been nothing short of awesome so far, and the Stanley Cup Finals between the Sharks and the Penguins should be no different. The Penguins do have the home-ice advantage, but that hasn’t stopped a majority of the experts from picking the Sharks. With both teams getting some much-needed rest, Monday should be a fun night in Pittsburgh.
