This is an interesting clash between inner-city rivals, it is only the second time teams from the same city have met in the final. The first was between these same two clubs two years ago, which Real Madrid won to lift their 10th trophy in the competition.

Atletico Madrid has finished as a runner-up twice, but has yet to win the tournament.

“The game will be very tense, very even, especially at the beginning,” Atletico manager Diego Simeone said.

“To play a final is absolutely fantastic, to win it is even better. That experience makes you want to continue living these moments. It’s not easy; you have to pick yourself up, keep inventing yourself, change the players but not change the commitment, the values, the work. If you keep working, you’re insistent, you can achieve things.”
